22 Sep

I absolutely love the fall flavors, specially pumpkin, although to be truthful I eat pumpkin flavored foods all year long despite what season it is.
However, I fully take advantage during the fall and stock up on pumpkin everything, since that’s when society deems it’s most acceptable to eat pumpkin flavored foods.

This weekend my Grandma Mary passed away. She was 91 when she was diagnosed with cancer and as a family we decided it would be best if she forwent the pain and uncomfortableness which always accompanies aggressive cancer treatments. We were warned that her time here with us would be limited and so we made the most of it, we visited her as often as possible and loved her more than ever.

Not Exactly the Type of Adventures I had in Mind

25 Oct

So it’s been a little less than a week since I last wrote and of course I am very sorry, I wish I could blame my “MIA” status on something like being busy, but in fact that would be a lie, as this week I have done absolutely nothing. Ok of course that is also another lie I have done things (imagine how hard it would be to do absolutely nothing), In fact I have done many things, but none of these thing would make a particular interesting post, therefore in hindsight I realize I was really thinking of you the entire time, not wanting to bore you with my simple day-to-day activities.

A little Bite of Heaven: Peach Pie Bites

18 Jul

Have you ever tried a Lara bar? If not you have no clue what you have been missing out on. They’re amazing, sweet, flavorful, healthy, non processed, and absolutely addicting. The one downside to these seemingly amazing bars are the expensive price, bars are priced between $1.13 and $1.59 each.   So I decided to take my inspiration for Lara Bars and make my own, rather then bars I opted to make bites, perfect for satisfying a craving! Flourless Tahini Cookies

19 Jun

I was rummaging through my fridge when I found a half opened bottle of Tahini, a staple in my former vegan life when I ate hummus on a regular basis…..sigh!

Luckily for me though tahini is a product which is allowed on the paleo diet seeing as it is simply a paste made from sesame seeds, However, I wasn’t quite sure what exactly to do with my half opened bottle of tahini, the sesame seed paste has a thick consistency similar to that of a nut butter, but it’s definitely not the kind of product that you can simply spread on carrots or celery. have you ever tried  raw tahini, I am not talking about the kind they serve in restaurants which is flavored up with lemon juice, garlic and olive oil, I am talking raw tahini, it is quite bitter, salty and leaves an awful aftertaste, of course this is completely my own opinion and you may find you really like tahini in it’s natural state with nothing added, I may probably trust your judgment in food ever again but  we can just agree to disagree! Decadent Dark Chocolate Avocado Mousse

16 May
I consider myself a pretty adventurous eater but, I even admit I had my doubts the first time my cousin suggest we serve this dessert at a family gathering. Now don’t get me wrong I love avocados and I love chocolate, but the combination of the two just seemed a bit odd Continue reading

Silky Chocolate and Pumpkin Pudding

So who says just because you get your wisdom teeth out you should be forced to eat soft tasteless baby food!

I have to say this whole post wisdom teeth experience really isn’t too bad. I’m not in too much pain, I’m not black and blue and swollen, and considering I can’t chew I’ve been inspired to come up with some delicious and soft recipes.
